Funding

The construction and development of Urbis was managed by Manchester City Council Special Projects Team and funded as part of £ 42m for Manchester’s Millennium Quarter. This is broken down as, £12m from European Regional Development Fund, £4m from Dept. of Local Gov., Transport & the Regions, £6m from Manchester City Council. Urbis also received annual funding from Manchester City Council.

Urbis Trading operated as a wholly owned subsidiary of Millennium Quarter Trust, and was established to deal with all trading functions of Urbis,such as The Modern, Urbis shop and Corporate Hire.
