what is second life?

Second life is a virtual world where you can create your own identity, your own unique look, and fly to weird and wonderful places. Urbis has created its own virtual gallery in Second Life, where you can explore our four floors of exhibitions and chat to other avatars that you meet there.

We also stream a number of our events into Second Life, so if ever they sell out (or you just fancy a night in instead), you can always experience them in the virtual world.

how do i get it?

Second life is free to download. To download it to your computer you should

• visit http://secondlife.com
• click JOIN (in the top right corner, you can skip the "join a community screen")
• choose a name for your avatar and register details 
• activate your account by clicking on the link in the automated email
• download the Second life software, and double click the file when complete
• log in with new user name and password
• You will then be shown around Training Island until you get the hang of the controls.
• You can find urbis by clicking SEARCH on the bottom menu, then click the PLACES tab and type Urbis. Finally hit the teleport button to beam straight into SL Urbis!!!
• Urbis is part of Manchester Island in Second Life, where you can find lots of other exciting out-of-this-world things going on
