28 February - 16 April
The Corridor Gallery
As part of Look 07, a city-wide event exploring the notion of democratic photography, Urbis invited the community of people who hang out in Cathedral Gardens to document a day in their life and to take portrait photographs of their friends.
These photographs form the exhibition and centre on the use of Cathedral Gardens as a social meeting space and a space that is inclusive of people from varying backgrounds and upbringings.
The images reveal the creative and playful sides to the garden user’s community, and wickedly emphasise their infectious energy and vivacity.
This exhibition symbolically brings inside Urbis the individuals who most people only ever see at a distance, knocking around outside Urbis, occupying Cathedral Gardens as a public, social and democratic space.
