The Hacienda looked at some magic moments from the legendary Manchester club as experienced by its punters. The photographs presented a snapshot of particular musical eras and phases of the club, its themed nights and gigs – and accompanying fashions and faux pas during the 80s and 90s.

The exhibitionfeatured photos of the dance floor at its climax as well as some of the club’s more unusual aspects from the toilets to the queue outside. Photographs included a selection of Ian Tilton’s previously unseen images and some taken by punters themselves. In addition to this Urbis specially commissioned a short film directed by Elliot Eastwick (Hacienda DJ and film maker) featuring ex-clubbers and employees and his fellow Hacienda DJs, who described what made it so special.
