Anime film screenings

July and August

To celebrate the long summer nights we will be screening anime, as part of the Manga exhibition.  Ranging from classics  ‘Akira’ and ‘Ghost in the Shell’ to live action features  ‘The Matrix’ and ‘Oldboy’.

Join us for an afternoon of festival fun to celebrate the launch fo the Family Friendly Film Festival! There will be lots of exciting family workshops, some great give-aways and competitions, an exclusive Baby Loves Disco dance tent and of course much movie mayhem with screenings and animation workshops for young children. Seed Swap

Join us for a day of gardening activities including seed swapping. Save any unwanted seeds & bring them along to swap them for some you do want! Get involved in discussions and debates and learn how to pot a plant or watch a bee hive in action. Kamishibai Paper Theatre

Experience the art of authentic Kamishibai paper theatre. Watch a performance and take part in our workshop to learn how to create a paper theatre of your own. Try it at home and entertain your friends in traditional Japanese fashion.

Manga Talk: The Legacy of Osamu Tezuka

Join Helen McCarthy for this discussion on the art of Manga and the influence of Osamu Tezuka in its development.  Helen is the author of a number of anime reference books and is co-author of The Erotic Anime Movie Guide.

ToursUrbis offers a variety of guided tours focusing on the exhibition floors and unique architecture of the building.

The Introduction to Urbis tour takes place at 1pm every day and lasts for approximately 35 minutes.
